Sorry about taking so long with these blogs, but I've been busy with my new classes and also getting ready to graduate (after roughly 10 years of college, it's about time). Anyways, before I disappear once again, let me do an unbiased review about WrestleMania III. WrestleMania III took place at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan on March 29th, 1987. The event was well known for when Hulk Hogan body-slammed Andre the Giant (which seems really odd because I've seen a match between these two about six years earlier where Hogan DID body slam Andre the Giant, and with greater ease), but was this little bit the only thing people remember? The answer? NO! WrestleMania III did have a decent card, and the matches were entertaining to say the least, but the match that really stood out was Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat vs 'Macho Man' Randy Savage for the Intercontinental Title. Many people agreed this was the best match of the event, and I agree with them. With an excellent balance of fortitude, determination, and a surprise ending really made this match worth watching again and again. While it doesn't quite reach the degree of greatness that the Intercontinental match did, the Hair vs Hair match between Rowdy Roddy Piper and Adrian Adonis was something because many believed that this would be the Hot Rod's last match before retiring (yeah, right). Also adding that Adrian Adonis without hair was a sight to remember (as Jesse Ventura quoted; "Humpty Dumpty"). Overall, WrestleMania III is an event worth watching, considering that WrestleMania 2 was a stinker. On a scale of 1 to 5, I'd give WrestleMania III a 4.5. Check back in a week (or so) for my next review, Survivor Series 1987.
