It's no real surprise that games nowadays have achievements (Xbox One and Steam) or trophies (PS4), but as I was playing some of my games, I really began to think about what if DOS games had achievements? What if DOS had online gaming (as we know today) existed back then (there was online gaming, but playing online was a more complicated matter). This is something I've been thinking of for a while, and while it may seem like a farfetched idea, DOS games should start incorporating achievements. Hey, every other game system is doing it (except for one certain company who I won't mention, because they know who they are, so why shouldn't DOS games?! (HEY STEAM!!! Why not re release some of your games that run on DOSBox, and include achievements?!) To showcase what I mean, I have put together a DOS game with achievements. My example game will be Commander Keen: Episode 1, and here is my list of achievements:
You get the idea. That was just a sample of a DOS game with some achievements. How about you try to come up with a DOS game and attach your own achievements to them? Do so by commenting on this blog. Remember, keep it professional, and keep it clean!
