Hey guys, what's up? Just another day at the office (metaphorically) and still no luck in the employment department. I got done playing the open beta to Ghost Recon: Wildlands and here's what I thought of it. I didn't make a video of this because I forgot. Graphics: Considering that I do like the Tom Clancy games, I wasn't really surprised by the graphics. I already knew before hand that there was going to be a lot of earth tone colors (for the record; I'm talking about beige, browns, greens, warmer shades of gray, etc). I was also semi-impressed by how grungy Bolivia looks. Whether this looks like the actual Bolivia is anyone's guess. Gameplay: Okay, I'll be honest about this; the gameplay is something that's been done to death. Let me do a rundown on the checklist. Third person shooter? Seen it. Vehicles? Seen it. Role Playing Game elements? Seen it. 4 player co-op? Seen it. DLC? Seen it. Switching between first and third person perspectives? Haven't really seen it yet, but saw it in Grand Theft Auto 5. Freedom to decide how to handle objectives? Only saw it once, and that was in Dishonored. So what's the point? I'll tell you; expect the same thing with very minor differences. Potential: Of the three betas I played from Ubisoft (this, The Division, and Rainbow Six: Siege), this one has gotten my attention. Why? This one has the most to do, and I like games that give the player(s) plenty to do. The Division's story also does give plenty to do, but there's less variety. Rainbow Six: Siege, however, was the black sheep of the bunch. It bared too much resemblance to Counter Strike, and offered too little for those who don't want to play multiplayer. The first two, however, doesn't require you to play with other players. Review?: Considering that I did a Rainbow Six: Siege review, don't be surprised that I do a Ghost Recon: Wildlands review sometime after launch, even though I have a pretty good idea of what to expect. I'll go in more detail with everything come review time. That's pretty much it for this blog. I'll let you know when I get back in the work force, but until then, keep your fingers crossed I get employed soon.
