call of duty 4: Modern warfare remastered released on steam, but has the damage been done?7/29/2017
Hey guys, what's up? Things have been going pretty smoothly on my end. I still like my new job, I'm (slowly) still making more videos, and one of my favorite games of all time got released on Steam, but remastered. Yep, it's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. When the first game came out in 2007, I was speechless. The game took a huge risk in straying away from World War II and went modern. To me, that was a smart move on the developer's part. I still have the original disc and the collector's art book. Now that the remastered game got released by itself, I was thinking "about time", but at the same time I was also thinking "has the damage been done?" I can safely say yes, the damage has been done, and I got a few good reasons to say so. First, the game shouldn't have been bundled with Infinite Warfare to begin with. While I get the message that doing this would've driven people away from Infinite Warfare, at the same time, people who didn't want to play Infinite Warfare still had to pay $80 for two games. In my opinion, it should've been released as two separate titles from the start (on all platforms mind you), OR have Modern Warfare Remastered be free via a voucher. Speaking of free, which brings me to point number two; Modern Warfare Remastered also would've benefited those who already have the original on their Steam account, kind of like how Bioshock had a remaster released for free to those who already owned either (or both) of the two Bioshock games. Next on the list is a $39.99 price tag. Seriously?? NO extra multiplayer maps included for free?! Okay, another dumb move! I've played plenty of games that require a season pass, but most of those games gave me more bang for my buck! And some included downloadable content for free and no season pass necessary (Shadow Warrior 2 is a great example of this). The least Activision should've done is release the extra maps as part of the deal (and reduce the price tag by about $20). From what I've heard, the multiplayer portion was terrible. The servers weren't optimized properly to allow smooth gameplay, and the servers themselves are empty or very few running. The original had better multiplayer. Ironically, the remaster has bots in multiplayer, so that's good, I guess. So what's my advice? If you want to play Modern Warfare, stick with the original. It's $20 cheaper and actually a lot of fun to play. If you want to play a good multiplayer game, play Counter Strike (any one of them will do, but I prefer Source or Global Offensive).
Hey guys, how's it going? Well, after spending a few weeks sick, I'm back to 100% and feeling fine. What was really unusual is how I got sick in the first place. I thought it was a common cold at first, but a week later, I wasn't feeling better. I just wanted to take proper cold medicine and let this pass on, but it turns out it wasn't the cold. So another week later, I had to go to the doctor (okay, made to go), and he told me that I had infected bronchial tubes. Joyous. He gave me antibiotics for a week, and the next day, I felt much better. Here's to hoping that I don't get this again. Oh, and the video delay is over. It's posted.
